The Driftless is warming up quickly! With these temperatures, fishing will really pick up.
There is little snow left on the ground, and we are getting a nice, slow melt and lots of it absorbed into the ground.
Creeks are flowing well and are clear to slightly stained with temperatures in the high 30s and low 40s.
Hatches of winter stones and midges are sparse still, but with steady warmer temperatures they should pick up in the next few days.
Subsurface fishing has been very solid on midge larvae, heavy nymphs, scuds, and leeches. Try tossing a streamer right now for bigger fish!
